Jackson MacDonald.
Jackson MacDonald owns Jack’d Up Plumbing and is a Red Seal journeyman himself. The company was incorporated in 2021. It does residential plumbing and heating in Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere and Okotoks: water heaters, furnaces and boilers, drains and leaks, and the fixtures in your home.
His Years in the Trade
Jackson has worked in plumbing and heating since 2014. Before starting Jack’d Up Plumbing, he worked on the commercial and industrial side of plumbing, then switched to residential service in 2018. He earned his Red Seal in 2021.
Why He Started the Company
In his words: “I started Jack’d Up Plumbing with a vision to raise the standards of the plumbing industry while building a company that attracts, develops, and retains the best talent in the trade.”
How He Runs the Company
- Every technician who comes to your home is a licensed Red Seal journeyman. The company sends no apprentices.
- The person who quotes your job is the person who does the work.
- You see the price and agree to it before any work starts, so the invoice holds no surprises.
- A licensed technician visits for $69.99, waived if you go ahead with the job.
- The team has over 50 years of combined experience.
The Guides He Approves
Jackson checks and approves every guide published under his name before it goes up. Each one explains what the answer depends on in your home and links to every outside source it names or takes a figure from. When a guide gives our price for a type of job, such as a new furnace, it calls the figure a general guide and says what can move it. How we write our guides explains the rest.
